Fresh, vivacious, and explicitly unapologetic, Firebomb has erupted from NY powerhouse rock band High Waited-and you don’t wanna miss.
Dropping the Firebomb
Notorious in their home state from the underground scene, High Waisted have a reputation for being wild and courageous. This bleeds through in Firebomb, a velvet hard-rock moniker about becoming your best, punk rock self. The song is one of empowerment, and the music video emulates that.
“This video is about the struggle to find the confidence to be your best self. It’s sex-positive and celebrates female strength. We also tried to pay homage to powerful frontwomen of the 90’s” the band says.
The immediate pull of the video is the breathtaking “no-nonsense” vibe straight out of the gate. There’s definitely grunge vibes taking over throughout, but it only plays to High Waisted’s in-your-face attitude. The video doesn’t care what you think, and this notion is what makes it the most fun to watch.
Guitar licking, leather, and dim lighting characterize the elemental surprise of the single in the best way. Firebomb’s visual experience is utterly enjoyable. It fills you with fury and confidence, celebrating self-pride. This celebration of sexuality and feminism highlights the message the band coveys.
Singles Firebomb and Free Throw were released on a split with The Coax in September, and the two trailblazing tracks have shown band maturity. Their solid sound and chemistry are one to take note on, especially during live shows. Speaking of live shows, High Waisted is currently on tour, wrapping early November. High Waisted is definitely making moves in the scene, and they’re one to pay attention to. If you haven’t checked out the video for Firebomb yet, what’s stopping you?
Check out the band Billboard said on sound, “The new offerings build on the group’s mix of lo-fi garage rock and vintage surf music…The band has never sounded more confident.”
